Marino Institute of Education (MIE) wishes to appoint an experiences, creative and dynamic StrategicCommunications and Marketing Officer. The person appointed must exhibit evidence of a strong commitment to developing and enhancing the reputation of MIE and to successfully market and effectively communicate the strategic priorities of MIE. The appointee will need to have a passion for digital marketing and social media. They will have an ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders. By bringing new ideas and a keen understanding of current trends in higher education marketing and communications, the Manager will lead the content strategy for the Institute across its social media platforms, as well as leading on campaigns and publications. The Manager will have the ability to work with colleagues internally to develop high quality content to tell MIEs story, and to present our unique course offerings, programmes, and educational opportunities digitally.

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications & Skills

In order to be considered for this post, applicants will require:

* A relevant degree level qualification
* Professional experience of running communications, social media and digital communications and marketing campaigns
* Excellent communication skills
* Professional familiarity with social media platforms, online marketing and monitoring tools
* Working familiarity with online content management systems
* Website management and editing experience
* Knowledge of GDPR and implications
* Ability to create photography, graphics and promotional video content for online channels
* Capability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to think creatively and innovatively
* Proficiency in MS packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. and experience working with Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Search Engine Optimisation, E-mail marketing tools
* Video and Photo Editing (Canva, Adobe Suite, CapCut) programmes would be advantageous.

Innilacht sa Ghaeilge inmhianaithe competence in Irish is desirable.

* JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties And Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership

* Design and implement a communications and marketing strategy that aligns with the vision and objectives of MIE
* Plan, organise and lead external and internal communications and marketing campaigns
* Act as brand guardian for MIE to ensure consistency across internal and external communications and documents
* Work alongside various departments to create and promote various degrees/events throughout the year
* Facilitate balanced collaboration with internal teams and departments, to assist them in upcoming promotional events and campaigns across MIE digital platforms.
* Develop key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as the Registrars Office, Admissions Officer, Student Engagement Officer, Course Leaders,

School Principals and Guidance Counsellors, the CAO and the Institute of Guidance Counsellors (IGC).

External Communications and Marketing

* Create new engaging written, photo and video content to be disseminated across our social media platformsshowcasing our campus, events and student day-to-day life in MIE and updating relevant information and deadlines.
* Ensure cohesive and impactful branding across all communications

channels to reinforce MIEs identity and reach.

* Manage MIEs various social media platforms ensuring consistency and creativity in MIEs messaging and brand and ensuring all MIE accounts are connected
* Liaise and work alongside the Student Recruitment Officer to build on the creation and promotion of engaging content regarding school visits, talks, fairs and events showcasing MIE.
* Plan social media posting with MIEs greater student engagement team to ensure a weekly online presence.
* Attend marketing and promotional higher institutional events and conferences to represent MIE course offerings.

Website

* Website management to include supporting the ongoing development of MIEs website, updating relevant deadlines and reminders for various courses.
* Support colleagues in generating material and assist in the uploading of new articles and content to our website
* Website management to include supporting the ongoing development of MIEs growing digital presence and development.
* Support colleagues in generating content material and assist in the uploading of new articles and frequent updates to our website.

Administration

* Develop a communications and social media calendar
* Review website and social media analytics and make recommendations to the President
* Create promotional campaigns for various degrees/events throughout the year
* Liaise with designers to create new marketing material for MIE/ various degrees/events
* Work alongside photographers and filmmakers to create marketing campaigns for various degrees/courses and to increase areas for further development including online campaigns, paid advertising, radio, television and print media.
* Plan strategies for social media accounts marketing campaigns
* Respond, as appropriate, to social media messages, especially enquires and comments
* Manage the publication of the Annual Report, Strategic Plan and any other initiatives which will be posted on social media platforms
* Work closely with other functional areas on relevant cross-organisational projects.
* Create and maintain a database of school contacts and guidance counsellors, and ensure they receive regular updates and communications
* General administration, office and other operational duties as required

It should be noted that in each work area/department within the Institute, the appointee must work as part of a team. Although duties pertaining to the post are broadly defined under the various headings as listed, the list of duties is not exhaustive. The appointee will be required to function in a flexible and collegial manner and in light of internal policies and relevant legislation. MIE retains the right to assign new duties and/or to re-assign staff to other areas of the Institute, in response to service needs.

* APPLICATION, SELECTION PROCESS AND OTHER GENERAL INFORMATION.

Method of Selection for Recommendation
A shortlisting of applicants will occur which will be based on the applicants qualifications, suitability and relevant work experience as detailed in the application. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all relevant information is included in their application and that they clearly identify how they meet the specified candidate criteria.

Interview will be by interview panel consisting of not fewer than 3 persons, and will comprise of the most suitable and qualified people to assess applicants in the discipline. All appointments to employment at MIE are made by the Governing Body. The interview panels recommendations for appointment of successful applicants for all posts will be submitted to the MIE Governing Body for their consideration and decision.

In the event that a recommendation for permanent appointment is not made by the interview panel, the Institute reserves the right to appoint a suitable candidate, identified through the selection process, to the post on a fixed term basis.

A panel may be created from which permanent or fixed term contract appointments for this position may be filled during the life of the panel. The panel will cease to exist 12 months from its formation date, which will be the date of initial interview.

Candidates must produce satisfactory documentary evidence of all training and experience claimed by them, if required.

Probationary Period
The appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of the standard 6-month probationary period. The probationary period may be extended at the discretion of the Institute but will not in any case exceed 12 months. Absences during the period of probation will extend the probationary period. Performance and conduct during the probationary period will be monitored through a process of assessment meetings. Termination of employment during the probationary period will be at the discretion of the Institute. An abridged version of the disciplinary procedure will apply to employees on probation.

Garda Vetting
All successful applicants may be required to participate in Garda vetting. Specific instruction on this process will be given at the appropriate time. Applicants who do not comply with the Institutes requirements in this regard will be excluded from consideration for appointment.

Salary
The current annual salary scale: €61,926 €77,597 (Fulltime Equivalent)
