Manager Job title: Evening Sortation Manager Department: Sortation Reporting to: Group Operations Manager Hours: 15:00 22:00 Monday to Friday (35 Hours per week) Description: This role is to provide management and leadership to the evening sortation staff. Organizing the available resources to affect a smooth sortation process that delivers, a service that both meets and exceeds customer and company expectations. Focusing on efficiency and process improvement. Responsibilities: Managing and Planning evening sortation process to ensure that customers mail is sorted and prepared efficiently for the delivery or uplift by the appropriate mailing agent such as Royal Mail, An Post or in-house courier distribution network. Co-ordinate with collections team drivers and monitor working practices and identify improvements and streamlining of processes. Management of counts room to ensure that appropriate processes and procedures are documented and in place to sort the Trusts and Council mail as required. Ensure accuracy of Customer billing for U Serve process. Maintenance of a training manual for evening sortation work. Review and document all H&S aspects of sortation operation and keeping risk assessments up to date. Monitor employee performance and utilization including absence management and appraisals. Coordinate staff induction and training, including health & Safety and Manual Handling, safe working practices. Manage and review employee performance to ensure maximum efficiency and departmental KPIs are achieved and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. A commitment to continuous improvement to operational performance within the business - identifying where problems or errors occur and putting in place new procedures to ensure they do not occur again HR experience from recruitment to disciplinary, carrying out appraisals, putting performance reviews in place, taking investigation statements, checklist and targets schedules. Maintaining records of HR matters such as sickness absence, disciplinary and reporting on same. Compiling evening reports for submission to Senior Management Knowledge staff handbook and company and policies and procedures. Personal specification: 3-5 Years Management experience High level of communication skills with employees and management team Proven ability to motivate staff and manage performance improvement IT skills in MS Office and online and cloud based systems Experience of Human Resource issues, and disciplinary descriptions.
