Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the daily operations of the residential service in line with TerraGlen's model of care, policies, and procedures.
* Provide clear direction, supervision, and professional guidance to your team.
* Ensure the service operates in full compliance with the Children First Act 2015, Health Act 2007, Care and Welfare Regulations 2013, and Tusla National Standards.
* Promote a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that empowers young people to thrive.
* Oversee individual care planning, key working, and goal setting.
* Maintain high standards of documentation, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance.
* Foster a positive, reflective, and professional culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.
* Participate in the on-call management rota and contribute to service development initiatives.
Qualifications
Option 1: Hold a QQI Level 7 qualification in Social Care and hold or be enrolled in a management qualification relevant to a health or social care setting, with a minimum of four years' post-qualification, full-time experience in a children's residential setting. Evidence of enrolment must be provided.
Option 2: Hold a QQI Level 8 qualification in Social Care with at least three years' post-qualification experience in a children's residential setting or hold a relevant qualification with four years' post-qualification, full-time experience in a children's residential setting.
Option 3: Hold a professional qualification in Social Work with four years' post-qualification experience and hold or be enrolled in a management qualification suitable for a health or social care environment. Evidence of enrolment must be provided.
A recognised qualification in Social Care includes equivalent qualifications obtained in other jurisdictions.
Applicants who do not hold a recognised qualification but are registered with CORU as Social Care Workers and possess a minimum of four years' full-time post-qualification experience may also be considered for the position of Centre Manager.
Other Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people with disabilities, trauma, or complex needs.
* Full, clean driving licence (manual).
* Strong knowledge of Irish legislation and regulatory frameworks including:
o Children First Act 2015
o Health Act 2007
o Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
o GDPR 2018
o Protected Disclosures Act 2014
* TCI/ CPI / PMAV / MAPA or equivalent Crisis Intervention and De‑escalation training.
* First Aid, Fire Safety, and Manual Handling certification.
* Experience preparing for and managing HIQA or Tusla inspections.
* Familiarity with trauma-informed and positive behaviour support practices.
* Strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills.
