Role Details & Compensation

* Work Split:
Typically
3-4 days in the office, 1-2 days on site
(Dublin/Lusk)
* Projects:
Mix of
Commercial New Build, Retrofits/Refurbs, and Fit Out
(Project values ranging from €100k - €7m).
Key Responsibilities
As a Junior QS, you will be involved in a balanced mix of both
pre-contract and post-contract
duties, gradually increasing your responsibilities:
* Pre-Contract & Estimating:
* Assisting in
tender preparation
and reviewing documentation.
* Supporting the
estimating team
by performing initial cost analysis.
* Assisting in
purchasing and procurement
, including managing supplier quotes and purchase orders.
* Preparing and verifying
Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
and
Schedules of Rates (SORs)
.
* Post-Contract & Commercial Management:
* Conducting
site (re)measurements
to verify work completed and inform valuations.
* Assisting the Senior QS with the preparation of
monthly valuations
and payment applications.
* Tracking project expenditure against the budget and supporting the
change control
process.
* Assisting with subcontractor payment certificates and final account preparation.
What You'll Bring
* Experience:
Ideally
1-2 years of post-graduate experience
in a QS role, or a degree qualification with a strong placement year.
* Attitude:
Enthusiasm, a strong willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to taking on more responsibility.
* Technical Skills:
Knowledge of
Cubit
estimating software and strong proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
is highly preferable.
* Qualifications:
A degree (BSc) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
