Dublin
UN Global Compact Network Ireland
Engagement manager
Posted: 11h ago
Offer description

UN Global Compact Network Ireland (GCNI CLG) is the Irish country network of the United Nations Global Compact — the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. We work with participating organisations across Ireland to embed responsible business practices, connect them to a global movement of over 20,000 companies, and translate sustainability commitments into real, measurable action. The Network delivers programmes supporting Irish companies at every stage of their sustainability journey. We are a small, high-impact team at the heart of Ireland's sustainable business community.
Role Description
This is a full-time role in Dublin (hybrid). This is a unique opportunity to join a lean, mission-driven team in a role that sits at the intersection of business development, relationship management, and sustainability. The Participant Engagement Manager is the primary relationship holder for participant organisations — nurturing existing connections, bringing new companies into the Network, and helping Irish businesses get the most from their UN Global Compact participation.
Working closely with the Executive Director, the PEM plays a central role in the Network's growth strategy and in connecting Irish business to the UN's most ambitious sustainability agenda.
Qualifications

A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in account management, business development, client engagement, or a related field
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with senior business contacts
Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate value propositions persuasively to diverse audiences
Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot), with experience using data to manage pipelines and track engagement
Highly organised with strong attention to detail; capable of managing multiple priorities and workstreams simultaneously
Self‑directed and comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy in a small, agile organisation
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, economics, social science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Knowledge of sustainability, ESG, corporate responsibility, or the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Familiarity with the UN Global Compact and its Ten Principles
Experience working within a membership organisation, NGO, professional body, or similar structure
Knowledge of the Irish business landscape and relevant sectoral networks
Experience in event coordination, webinar delivery, or learning programme administration

What We Offer

A purpose-driven role with direct impact on how Irish business engages with global sustainability
Competitive salary commensurate with experience
Flexible, hybrid working model based in Dublin
Opportunity to work at the forefront of Ireland's responsible business agenda
Connection to a global network of sustainability professionals and UN system partners
