**Clinical Operations Program Head Role**
The Clinical Operations Program Head (COPH) is responsible for delivering data-driven, actionable operational and strategic insights for executing clinical development programs and trials.
In this role, you will lead operational delivery of the clinical development program, oversee the execution of related trials, and serve as the Global Clinical Operations (GCO) point of contact for the assigned clinical development program and trials.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Lead operational delivery of the clinical development program and oversee the execution of related trials, aligned with the Investigator's Brochure/ Clinical Development Plan (IDP/CDP).
2. Serve as the GCO point of contact for the assigned clinical development program and trials.
3. Partner with Global Project Leader during strategy, planning, and execution to ensure scientific and operational harmonization, generating reliable data to support decision-making while safeguarding participants.
4. Lead operational delivery, strategic planning, and prioritization within the program, including early viability assessments and operational scenario development.
5. Manage the clinical trial budget in accordance with financial milestones and oversee scope changes.
6. Collaborate with the GCO Departmental Unit (DU) Head to shape Global Drug Development (GDD) DU strategy, ensuring operational feasibility of development strategies.
7. Engage with senior leaders, manage stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and facilitate agreements.
8. Monitor industry trends and represent GCO at industry consortia.
9. Contribute to early program assessments and reflect operational insights in strategic planning.
10. Ensure new programs are integrated into GCO's mid- and long-term strategy.
11. Promote a product-oriented agile mindset and a culture of high performance.
**Requirements:**
* Bachelor's degree in life sciences/healthcare; advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, Master's) preferred, with 10+ years in pharmaceutical development.
* Experience managing global teams in a matrix organization.
* Proven leadership in cross-functional, product-oriented agile teams.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving skills, resilience, and change management capabilities.
* Extensive knowledge of clinical development, preferably with Novartis processes, or ability to develop it within 6 months.
* Ability to lead through organizational change and across boundaries.
* Knowledge of therapeutic areas or ability to develop it quickly; strong stakeholder management skills.
This hybrid role can be based in London, Dublin, or Basel.
