About the Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organised Legal Secretary to join their busy general practice law firm. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a strong legal background to provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support across multiple areas of law, including (but not limited to) conveyancing, family, litigation, wills & probate, and commercial law.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to solicitors and legal executives
2. Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence
3. Manage diaries, schedule appointments, and organise meetings
4. Handle telephone calls and client enquiries in a professional and confidential manner
5. Maintain and organise client files (both paper and electronic)
6. Assist with file opening and closing procedures, including conflict checks and ID verifications
7. Prepare and process invoices, bills, and other financial documents
8. Liaise with clients and third parties as required
9. Support the smooth running of the office with general administrative tasks

Key Requirements:

10. Proven experience as a legal secretary ideally within a general practice
11. Excellent knowledge of legal terminology and documentation
12. Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management systems
13. Fast and accurate audio and copy typing skills
14. Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail
15. Professional and confident telephone manner
16. Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied workload
17. Discretion and respect for client confidentiality
18. Experience in multiple practice areas ( conveyancing, family, litigation, probate)

Legal secretarial qualification or relevant training (preferred but not essential)
