Our client, is seeking a hands-on, experienced Production Supervisor to oversee a manufacturing workshop and team of General Operative based in Talaght (Dublin 24).
This role requires a proactive leader ideally with a strong technical background, who can ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily operations of the manufacturing line and ensure smooth workflow across all production stages
Coordinate and delegate tasks to General Operatives based on work orders, schedules, and priorities
Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations (Safe Pass, Manual Handling, etc.)
Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and maintain high HSE standards in the workshop
Inspect work to ensure adherence to technical specifications, quality control, and deadlines
Train and mentor new operatives, encouraging continuous skills development and performance improvement
Collaborate with production planning and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of materials and tools
Identify process improvements and contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives
Maintain accurate records of work progress, incidents, and performance issues
Step in on the production line when necessary to support operatives or address bottlenecks Essential Requirements:
Proven supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
Strong background in assembly, metalwork, or vehicle manufacturing
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and assigning work accordingly
Valid Forklift Operator’s License, Safe Pass, and Manual Handling certification
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
Competency in quality assurance and workshop safety standards Desirable Qualifications:
Mechanical or engineering qualification
Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles
Exceptional production leadership skills, able to manage and motivate within an engineering production environment
