Job Title: Lead Engineering Technician (Electrical / Instrumentation) Location:Northern Cross, Dublin Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Salary: Competitive, DOE Reports To: Engineering Manager Role Overview: As the Lead Engineering Technician (Electrical / Instrumentation), you will play a critical role in maintaining operational excellence and equipment reliability within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical expertise, team mentoring, and a strong focus on continuous improvement. Youll collaborate closely with production, quality, and external contractors to ensure maximum plant uptime and performance. Key Responsibilities: Provide hands-on leadership and mentoring to the maintenance team. Collaborate with production and quality departments to ensure operational efficiency. Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all engineering activities. Deliver and maintain a robust preventative maintenance program to minimise downtime. Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance tasks effectively. Oversee the control and procurement of spare parts and manage inventory levels. Ensure compliance with external contractor service schedules and monitor contractor performance. Participate in daily shift meetings, providing updates on maintenance activities and addressing operational issues. Contribute to manpower planning and resource allocation with the Engineering Manager. Support and lead continuous improvement and factory upgrade projects. Qualifications & Experience: Time-served Electrical Maintenance Technician or equivalent qualification. Minimum 2 years experience in an Engineering Lead or Supervisor role. Strong background in electrical and mechanical fault finding. Proven experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment adhering to GMPs, SOPs, and KPIs. Skilled in planning and executing maintenance schedules. Experience in panel building, PLC programming, HMI design, and SCADA systems is highly advantageous. Competency in Lean, Six Sigma, and project management methodologies. Experience in condition monitoring, root cause analysis, OEE systems, and continuous improvement projects. Familiarity with managing budgets and engineering-related procurement. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Exposure to regulatory, corporate, and customer audits/inspections. Additional Information: Overtime may be required depending on workload and operational demands.
