The Role
This is an opportunity to join a world-leading engineering team working on the design and development of new features across Pico’s entire product range. We are at a tremendously exciting stage with extensive innovative work ongoing and an inspiring vision to fulfill.
Pico’s technology is used in many ways today, including:
* Understanding our customers’ market position in capital markets
* Monitoring our customers’ backbone network performance
* Debugging application performance issues
* Capturing and providing access to historical market data
* Providing normalized real-time market data feeds
* Monitoring voice over IP call quality
We need brilliant engineers to help bring this technology into new markets and deployment models. If you want to work with talented colleagues, solve complex problems involving real-time network data analysis, and develop solutions for real-time and historical market data, then Pico is the place for you.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
* Minimum of 2 years of development experience
* Expert proficiency in C++ development under Linux
* Experience with Python, shell scripting, makefiles, etc.
* Understanding of algorithms and design patterns
* Experience in multi-threaded application development
* Knowledge of automated testing (unit and integration testing)
* Proficiency with Linux development tools such as gdb and valgrind
* Knowledge of IP networking

* Ability to write maintainable code that others can work on
* Understanding of high availability and high-performance system requirements
* Deep knowledge of C++ features and their efficient use

* Following existing patterns and inventing new ones when necessary
* Ability to troubleshoot issues with limited data
Working Arrangements
This is a hybrid position with weekly in-office presence and flexible remote work. Travel may occasionally be required but is not frequent or regular.
