Key purpose of the job: As an Assistant Social Care Worker, you will provide holistic supports with day‑to‑day living for individuals with a learning disability, autism or associated mental health needs. You will deliver person‑centred and empowering provisions of support, meeting the individual needs of our service users.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide assistance to Service Users in all aspects of personal care.
* Ensure the Human Rights of each Service User are exercised with utmost integrity and respect.
* Maintain a safe environment for Service Users, colleagues and visitors.
* Encourage Service Users to live according to their wishes, promoting individuality through new opportunities and skill development.
* Ensure each Service User receives correct and relevant information enabling informed decision making.
* Support each Service User in the least restrictive ways; positive risk-taking is provided where appropriate.
* Apply low‑arousal, non‑aversive methods.
* Achieve personal outcomes with clear goals, steps and timeframes.
* Prioritise supports and meet key commitments.
* Work in line with evidence‑based practices.
* Support individuals to live life to their fullest potential and remain socially valued members of the community.
* Contribute positively and professionally to the staff team and wider organisation.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum 1 year experience working with people with disabilities.
* Driving licence preferred.
Career Level
* Experienced (Non‑Managerial)
