The Senior Philanthropy and Funding Development Executive will lead on the management and coordination of grants and funding streams that contribute to both operational and project-based income for the organisation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated fundraising professional with a background in trusts, foundations, or institutional giving to play a key role in a dynamic and impactful team.
In addition to project managing grants and funding, this role will assist the Philanthropy and Funding Development Manager in crafting and implementing strategic plans for Legacy Giving, Bequests, and broader Philanthropic Giving, with the aim of introducing innovative ideas and expanding on existing initiatives.
A key focus of this role is the cultivation and stewardship of relationships with both new and long-standing donors, including charitable trusts and foundations.
The successful candidate will contribute to donor engagement and retention through thoughtful research, clear and timely communications, grant reporting, acknowledgments, and process enhancement across the grants and funding lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities:
* Lead the planning, research, writing, and submission of compelling funding proposals and grant applications to help meet income targets and secure essential support for Dublin Simon Community's work.
* Work with Management and internal stakeholders to help establish a portfolio of projects and programmes requiring funding. Assist in developing suitable products relating to these projects and programmes to secure funding from the Philanthropy & Funding Development Programme.
* Build and maintain effective internal relationships. Foster strong internal collaboration, working with colleagues across departments to gather key information for timely applications, reports, and project monitoring to ensure alignment with budgets, KPIs, and deadlines.
* Develop and implement a marketing approach for Legacy Giving, aligning with the broader fundraising strategy.
* Support the Philanthropy and Funding Development Manager in developing new strategies for Philanthropic Giving.
* Plan and execute donor engagement events organised by the Philanthropy and Funding team.
* Support the execution of an integrated donor communication and engagement strategy, leveraging various channels such as the website, newsletters, video, social media, case studies, and events.
* Coordinate the production of fundraising collateral and marketing materials, working with stakeholders to ensure alignment with campaign goals.
* Assist with financial reconciliation on a monthly basis in coordination with the
* finance team.
Collaborate with teams across the Fundraising and Communications department to support the delivery of key campaigns and fundraising events.
Essential for the role:
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in fundraising, communications, or marketing, with a particular focus on grant writing and donor engagement.
* Strong time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure and to deadlines.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in written work and reporting.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong focus on donor satisfaction and relationship management.
* Experience working directly with external stakeholders both in person and over the phone.
* Proven ability to build and maintain relationships across a range of audiences—both internal and external.
* Competency in data analysis and experience managing donor databases (Salesforce preferred).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong general administrative skills.
* Confident in problem-solving and working collaboratively across a busy team environment.
Positive, adaptable, and proactive approach to evolving work demands.
Desirable for the role:
* Degree or qualification in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Sales, Events, or a related field.
* Background in customer service or care.
* Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms, particularly in a fundraising or donor management context.
Knowledge of the housing and property sectors, particularly in relation to homelessness and related issues.
