Key Role:
We are seeking a high-performing commercial lead to drive the strategic development and growth of a key food category.
As a Senior Buying Manager, you will be responsible for owning and optimising the commercial performance of your category through annual trading plans and targeted budgets. Your primary objective will be to drive revenue and margin growth by setting and monitoring product costs, pricing, and portfolio profitability.
You will develop a compelling food range based on market trends and consumer insight, negotiate best-in-class purchase terms to ensure quality, availability, and competitiveness, and build and manage long-term supplier relationships that support joint business planning.
Requirements:
* At least 3 years' experience in a buying, category, or trading role in retail or FMCG
* Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record of delivering profitable category growth
* A passion for food and a deep awareness of food trends and shopper behaviour
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier relationship management skills
* Proficiency in data analysis with a strategic, insights-led approach
