SOS Group is a leading company in facility management, specializing in delivering comprehensive guest services tailored to meet the unique needs of commercial, industrial and residential sectors.We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor/Operative to oversee and carry out day-to-day maintenance tasks at SOS GROUP. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising a small team of maintenance staff while also performing light maintenance duties, including painting and decorating, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks. This is a hands-on role that requires a versatile skill set and a proactive attitude towards ensuring the smooth operation of the property or facility.Key Responsibilities:Supervisory Duties:Supervise and coordinate the work of a small team of maintenance staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.Plan and delegate maintenance tasks based on priority, workload, and available resources.Monitor work performance and provide guidance and support to team members as needed.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices at all times.Maintain records of completed work and track inventory of materials and tools.Maintenance Duties:Painting and Decorating: Carry out painting and decorating tasks for internal and external areas, ensuring high-quality finishes.Carpentry: Perform minor carpentry repairs, such as fixing doors, windows, and furniture, or constructing small wooden structures.General Maintenance: Address routine maintenance issues such as plumbing, electrical repairs, and general repairs of fixtures and fittings.Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems.Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and resolve issues in a timely manner.Additional Responsibilities:Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for yourself and your team.Assist in managing the budget for maintenance supplies and ensure that materials are ordered as needed.Liaise with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance services when required.Ensure that all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience in a similar maintenance role, with hands-on expertise in light maintenance tasks, including painting, decorating, carpentry, and general repairs.Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC systems is a plus.Strong communication skills to liaise with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers.Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical drawings, and safety documents.A relevant qualification or certification in a trade (e.g., painting & decorating, carpentry, or general maintenance) is desirable but not essential.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.Comfortable working at heights and with various tools and equipment.Ability to work in various weather conditions if applicable to the role.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timePay: From €16.00 per hourWork Location: In person
