Senior Quantity Surveyor Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's dynamic commercial team on a major project in Midleton, County Cork.
This role offers the chance to play a vital part in the successful delivery of a flagship development. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cost control, contract management, and strategic procurement.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the commercial aspects of the project from early-stage planning to final account settlement. Responsibilities include monitoring and managing cost forecasts, budgets, and cash flow across all stages of the build.
The successful candidate will also oversee the negotiation and administration of contracts, and implement effective procurement strategies. Additional duties include managing subcontractor onboarding, valuations, performance reviews, and payment processes.
A key aspect of this role is compiling and delivering clear, concise cost reports for internal teams and clients. Support will also be provided for project risk analysis, cost planning, and value engineering initiatives.
In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will guide and mentor junior team members, contributing to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
This opportunity requires a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalent qualification. At least 7 years' experience in a similar role, ideally with a main contractor, is also required.
Demonstrated success managing large-scale commercial or residential construction projects is essential. A strong grasp of Irish building legislation and experience with RIAI or GCCC contract forms is also necessary.
A confident communicator with strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical abilities is required. Proficiency in industry-standard cost management and reporting software (e.g., Buildsoft, Cubit) is also a must.
