EHS Manager – Construction (Cork)

Occupli is currently partnering with a leading residential contractor to appoint an experienced EHS Manager to oversee health, safety, and environmental standards across multiple active housing developments in the Cork region.
This is a residentially focused role, and we are specifically seeking candidates with a proven track record in low- to mid-rise housing projects. Applicants must have direct experience working with Irish contractors or developers on residential builds.
Please note: candidates whose experience is primarily within pharma, manufacturing, data centres, or heavy industrial environments will not be considered.
Cork-based projects
Candidates must be locally based or willing to relocate
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage EHS compliance across multiple live residential construction sites
Work closely with site management teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture
Ensure full compliance with Irish HSA legislation and regulatory requirements
Support and fulfil PSCS-related duties where required
Conduct site audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
Maintain a visible, hands‑on presence across sites
Requirements
Proven experience as an EHS Manager or Senior EHS Lead within residential construction
Strong knowledge of Irish health & safety legislation and best practice
Demonstrated experience working on housing developments (essential)
Ability to manage EHS across multiple sites simultaneously
Excellent communication skills with a proactive, site‑first approach
