We are currently hiring an EHS Engineer to support a very high-profile medical device client in Co. Westmeath. This role has come about due to organic growth and planned expansions on site.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support site EHS programmes, procedures and compliance systems.
Support compliance across a highly regulated manufacturing environment, including FDA, GMP, ISO 13485, and internal quality standards.
Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections and safety reviews.
Lead/support incident investigations and corrective actions.
Support environmental compliance, waste, emissions and chemical management.
Partner with manufacturing, engineering, facilities and quality teams.
Provide EHS support for equipment installs, facility upgrades and capital projects.
Manage contractor safety, permits to work, RAMS and inductions.
Maintain EHS documentation, records and audit readiness.
Support machine safety, ergonomics, manual handling, fire safety and emergency response.
Deliver EHS training, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
Track EHS actions, metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
Authority:
You have authority to stop the job if you feel there is an unsafe work practice which could result in a risk of injury, have an environmental impact or risk to equipment and other personnel.
Carry out your duties to meet Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements at all times.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ EHS experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment.
Experience in medical device, pharma, life sciences, chemical or GMP manufacturing preferred.
Strong knowledge of Irish EHS legislation and environmental compliance.
Experience with risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
Contractor management and permit-to-work experience.
Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, facilities or capital projects.
Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 13485 or GMP advantageous.
Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills
