Commercial Analyst
My client, a highly successful and well-established Irish food retailer, is seeking a motivated Commercial Analyst to join their Central Commercial team. This role will focus on the alcohol sector and will play a key part in leveraging the client’s scale and multichannel reach across the island of Ireland to maximise sales and profit while securing the most competitive cost prices. Cork based with flexible working from home arrangements.

Responsibilities of this Commercial Analyst include:
* Collaborate closely with the Alcohol Leadership team to deliver strategic goals by maximising the client’s commercial scale in areas like multichannel reach, unified cost pricing, direct sourcing, brand partnerships, and streamlined supply chain operations.
* Build and develop commercial insights and analytics for the alcohol sector across Ireland.
* Identify and prioritise commercial opportunities including product range, distribution, supplier consolidation, and scaling.
* Support the pursuit and implementation of opportunities, alongside benefit tracking and delivery reporting.
* Lead cost price analysis and identify areas for pricing simplification and alignment across Ireland.
* Drive delivery of a “One Cost Price” model through comprehensive analysis, development of commercial arguments, collaboration with Category Managers, supplier validation, and support during negotiations.
* Ensure sustainability of unified pricing through robust reporting, gap analysis, and issue resolution.
* Evaluate direct sourcing, distributor consolidation, and potential brand partnerships for commercial benefit.
Requirements for this Commercial Analyst include:
* Qualified accountant or business degree with 3+ years in finance/commercial role.
* Strong skills in Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
* Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Confident communicator with stakeholder management experience.
* Cross-functional collaboration experience (finance, IT, commercial).
* Strong reporting, influencing, and presentation abilities.
* Experience with tech or external providers to support commercial tools.
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and a varied workload.
