Grade V Superannuation Officer0.8 WTE Reports to: Head of Finance Description of the hospital The Royal Hospital Donnybrook is a 178 bedded hospital that provides Post-Acute, Stroke Rehabilitation, Neurorehabilitation and General Rehabilitation services, Day Hospital services, Respite and Residential Care services to adults.Maximise your chances of a successful application to this job by ensuring your CV and skills are a good match.Purpose of the post The post holder is responsible for the administration of the Superannuation schemes (VHSS & Single Pension Scheme) in place within the hospital.This entails the provision of service histories, estimates and refunds where appropriate to current and former employees.The post holder will also be responsible for processing retirement benefits and for the computation of CET and RLS taxes where appropriate.Qualifications and experience Applicants must, as a minimum, on the closing date for receipt of completed applications: Have satisfactory experience as a Clerical Officer in the HSE, TUSLA, other statutory Health agencies, or a body which provides services on behalf of the HSE under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004.Or Have obtained a pass (Grade D) in at least five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Leaving Certificate Examination, including Mathematics and English or Irish.Candidates should have obtained at least Grade C On higher-level papers in three subjects in that examination.Or Have completed a relevant examination at a comparable standard in any equivalent Examination in another jurisdiction Or Hold a comparable and relevant third level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland, (QQI).Core duties and responsibilities To provide an efficient, confidential and accurate Superannuation Administration service as follows: Process pension applications for retirement benefits, permanent infirmity pensions, pension estimates and for family law purposes.Calculate Chargeable Excess Tax and Retirement Lump Sum taxes as appropriate.Process pension scheme contribution refunds.Collate data for Service Verifications.Assist with pension increases.Issue Annual Declaration Forms to current pensioners.Provide data for the VHSS Annual Returns.Provide senior management with data on pension costs and forecasts.Manage data for upload to the DPER National Databank.Ensure that Leaver and Annual Benefit Statements are available to current and former staff through the staff portal.Attend workshops and events associated with the pension schemes in operation within the hospital.Maintain a register of all staff in the relevant Superannuation schemes and advise the VHSS of all leavers.Manage and maintain Superannuation files for former and existing employees.Keep up to date with all changes and rules in VHSS and Single Scheme Coordinate and produce VHSS and Single Scheme reports as required Act as a resource for staff on AVCs, PRSAs etc.A full job description is available upon request to Human Resources.
