R&D Scientist
Full time, permanent position
Reporting to the R&D Assay Development Manager
The R&D Scientist will work as part of the Assay Development team, on the development of In vitro diagnostic PCR assays, and the preparation of project documentation for regulatory submissions. This role is based on-site and involves both a lab-based and office-based component.
Main Duties:
Participate in R&D activities through all phases of In vitro Diagnostic product development, in line with In Vitro Diagnostic Devices Regulation 2017/746 (IVDR).
Design and perform experiments using molecular biology and microbiology techniques.
Analyse and present experimental data.
Prepare SOPs, study plans, protocols, and reports for Feasibility and Verification studies, and IVDR documents.
Adapt well to a fast-paced environment.
Communicate proactively within team and participate in troubleshooting discussions and activities.
Participate in general running and upkeep of labs (lab consumable orders, environmental screening, and liaising with Quality and Regulatory departments).
Essential Criteria:
BSc in Molecular/Microbiology or equivalent.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
High self-motivation and positive attitude.
Must work well as part of a team.
Must be tolerant to change, ready to take on new challenges and open to learning new skills.
Full Driver's License.
Desirable Criteria:
MSc in Molecular/Microbiology or equivalent.
Molecular Biology Experience (Oligo design, PCR, DNA and RNA extraction).
Microbiology experience (aseptic technique, bacterial culture, and enumeration).
Industry experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
Design Control experience.
Technical writing experience.
