Project Controls Manager
As a Project Controls Manager, you will support the delivery of complex rail and infrastructure projects through the application of best‑practice project controls processes, including planning, cost management, risk, and performance reporting. You will work closely with project managers, technical teams, and clients to ensure projects are effectively planned, monitored, and controlled throughout their lifecycle—from early feasibility through to delivery and operation. This role requires a collaborative, detail‑oriented professional who is comfortable working in fast‑paced project environments.
Your Role Will Include
Supporting the delivery of project controls services across rail and infrastructure projects, including planning, cost, risk, and reporting
Developing and maintaining programme schedules, cost forecasts, and performance metrics
Ensuring the implementation of robust project controls processes, systems, and governance frameworks
Providing accurate reporting and analysis to support project decision‑making and performance tracking
Working with project teams to support resource planning, forecasting, and progress monitoring
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment between programme, cost, and delivery objectives
Supporting risk management processes, including identification, assessment, and mitigation tracking
Engaging with clients and stakeholders to provide clear, data‑driven insights on project performance
Supporting the development and implementation of PMO and project controls frameworks where required
Contributing to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance project controls practices and tools
Supporting bids and work‑winning activities, providing project controls expertise and input
Assisting with the development and mentoring of junior team members
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
Experience in project controls within rail, infrastructure, or transport projects
Experience supporting planning, cost control, risk management, and reporting functions
Experience working in a consultancy or project delivery environment
Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams
Experience supporting or working within a PMO or project controls environment
Strong understanding of project controls principles, processes, and systems
Ability to analyse and interpret project data, producing high‑quality reports
Strong attention to detail and ability to validate and assure data accuracy
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
Collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams
