THE ROLE
Tesco Ireland is seeking to appoint a Line Manager responsible for supporting and leading a department and team to deliver the best shopping experience for our customers. This role reports to the Deputy Manager and ensures we serve Ireland’s shoppers a little better every day.
* Create an inspiring and welcoming environment for colleagues and customers
* Be responsible for the store when the Store Manager/Deputy Manager are absent
* Ensure team members are fully trained and validated in their roles
* Foster two-way communication and a culture of trust
* Coach and manage colleagues to meet daily priorities and deliver excellent customer service
* Review reports and systems to implement improvements for customers and colleagues
* Drive a culture of zero food waste by managing date codes and food safety
* Recruit passionate colleagues committed to customer service
* Understand and deliver cleaning specifications through leadership and example
* Manage stock control, warehouse layout, and routines for first-time accuracy
* Address pricing errors, overcharges, refunds, and labeling routines to ensure correct charges
* Oversee front-end operations to prevent queues
* Recognize and provide feedback on colleagues' service performance
For the ‘Line Manager’ role, candidates should demonstrate:
* Passion for delivering the right experience for customers and colleagues
* Adaptability and agility in thinking
* Ability to deliver key objectives in a fast-paced environment
* Being the go-to person for department queries
* Influencing at senior levels
* Previous retail management experience is preferred
