Overview
An exciting insurance business in Dublin is looking for a Senior Data Architect (GCP) to lead the design of scalable, cloud-based data platforms and support international reporting and regulatory requirements.
Based in Dublin
2 days a week in the office (hybrid working)
6 months initially, with a strong likelihood of extension up to 3 years
Full right to work in Ireland required
The Job
As the Senior Data Architect, your responsibilities will include:
Defining and owning end-to-end data architecture on Google Cloud Platform
Designing scalable and secure data solutions using BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Storage
Architecting and overseeing complex ELT pipelines and enterprise data models
Establishing data quality, governance, monitoring, and CI/CD frameworks
Enabling analytics, regulatory reporting, and insights across multiple international markets
Acting as a technical authority, guiding data engineers and best practices
Working closely with BI, product, and actuarial teams to deliver production-ready solutions
You
Extensive experience working as a Data Architect
Strong hands-on experience with BigQuery, Python, and SQL
Deep understanding of GCP services including Dataflow, Dataproc, IAM, Cloud Storage, and Composer
Proven experience delivering data solutions in insurance or other regulated environments
Strong background designing and optimising large-scale ELT architectures
Comfortable working with senior stakeholders across multiple markets
