OC Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Team Leader on behalf of our client for a new mainstream children's residential service opening in County Tipperary in July 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and passionate Social Care professional to join a developing service at an exciting stage and help shape a positive, child-centred culture from day one. Working closely with the management team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting staff, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for young people. The Role As Team Leader, you will provide leadership, guidance, and support to the residential care team while ensuring the day-to-day operation of the service reflects best practice, regulatory requirements, and the organisation's values. You will be responsible for helping to create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where children and young people are supported to reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities Lead, motivate, and support a team of Social Care Workers. Promote and maintain a child-centred, therapeutic approach to care. Support the implementation and review of care plans and risk assessments. Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. Act as a role model for best practice and professional conduct. Participate in staff supervision, mentoring, and development. Assist with rota management, shift coordination, and service delivery. Build positive working relationships with children, families, social workers, and external agencies. Maintain accurate records and contribute to audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives. Essential Requirements A recognised Level 7 qualification (or higher) in Social Care, Applied Social Studies, or a related discipline, eligible for CORU registration. CORU registration or evidence of a CORU application submitted. Minimum of 3 years' experience working within children's residential services or a related social care setting. Experience supporting and guiding staff within a residential environment. Strong knowledge of HIQA Standards, Children's First, and relevant legislation. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Legal right to work and reside in the Republic of Ireland. Desirable Criteria Previous experience in a Team Leader, Senior Social Care Worker, or similar supervisory role. Full, clean driving licence preferred. What's on Offer Permanent full-time position.
