Key Responsibilities
* Lead the EIA Process for major renewable energy developments—including the full preparation and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIAR) and Natura Impact Statements (NIS).
* Act as Environmental Lead, ensuring planning and project delivery are aligned with the latest legislation, best practices, and compliance standards.
* Monitor changes in planning and environmental policy across national, regional, and local levels—contributing insight and strategic recommendations to project and business plans.
* Collaborate with stakeholder and communications teams to support effective consultation and engagement with communities and statutory bodies.
* Manage procurement specs for third-party consultants and work alongside procurement on end-to-end tender processes.
* Support health, safety, and environmental compliance across all projects—ensuring adherence to internal policies and statutory regulations.
* Mentor and guide junior team members, providing expertise particularly around EIA and AA processes.
* Participate in regular performance reviews and actively contribute to overall team and project success.
Ideal Profile
* Honours Degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline. A Level 9 postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience preparing EIAR and AA/NIS documentation for major infrastructure projects.
* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage project timelines and risks effectively.
* In-depth knowledge of Irish planning legislation and the EIA process is essential.
* Sector experience in renewable energy or SID (Strategic Infrastructure Development) projects is highly desirable.
* Additional technical expertise in areas such as ecology, air quality, or noise is a plus.
