Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a seasoned commercial professional to lead the financial aspects of our construction projects from inception to completion.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cost control, contract management, and strategic procurement strategies.
Main Responsibilities:
* Taking ownership of the project's commercial aspects, including planning, budgeting, and cash flow management
* Monitoring and managing cost forecasts, budgets, and valuations across all stages of the project
* Negotiating and administering contracts, as well as implementing effective procurement processes
* Managing subcontractor onboarding, performance reviews, and payment processes
* Compiling and delivering clear, concise cost reports for internal teams and clients
* Supporting risk analysis, cost planning, and value engineering initiatives
* Guiding and mentoring junior team members to foster continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
* Collaborating with site management, design consultants, and project leaders to align commercial goals with project milestones
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalent qualification
* At least 7 years' experience in a similar role, preferably with a main contractor
* Demonstrated success managing large-scale commercial or residential construction projects
* A strong grasp of Irish building legislation and experience with RIAI or GCCC contract forms
* Excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, problem-solving skills, and analytical capabilities
* Proficiency in industry-standard cost management and reporting software (e.g., Buildsoft, Cubit)
* A proactive and collaborative attitude, with a desire to contribute to long-term company success
