The University College Dublin (UCD) School of Physics invites applications for a permanent post of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Experimental Particle Physics. This is an excellent opportunity to join a vibrant and growing research community in high-energy experimental particle physics.
Main Responsibilities:
* Undertake a research programme of international repute in high-energy experimental particle physics as a member of one of the CERN LHC experiments CMS or LHCb.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary research projects on topics such as health and medicine, computer science, and advanced technologies.
* Pursue funding opportunities at national and international levels to support research activities.
* Show leadership in building and managing a research group and mentoring junior colleagues.
* Publish research papers in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and present findings at conferences.
* Supervise research students in our MSc and PhD programmes and guide them in their academic development.
Teaching Duties:
* Coordinate and deliver educational content for the School's BSc and MSc taught programmes, including classroom and laboratory teaching.
* Develop and implement innovative teaching methods and assessments to enhance student learning outcomes.
* Contribute to curriculum design and review, ensuring that it remains relevant and effective.
