Quality Engineer
OCC Construction, an award-winning and well-established main contractor based in Galway, is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality construction projects across the West of Ireland.
The role is primarily site-based and is suited to someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on approach to ensure works are completed right first time. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring site quality performance, completing inspections and ITPs, and ensuring full compliance with OCC's Integrated Management System (IMS) and ISO Standards.

Role Responsibilities
* Support the ongoing development, implementation, and continuous improvement of OCC's Quality Management System (QMS) on site ensuring it aligns with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and project-specific needs.
* Develop project quality management plans (QMP) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and ensure adherence to these throughout project lifecycle.
* Support site teams with inspections and test plans to ensure their accurate and correct completion as per OCCs standards.

* Carry out regular quality inspections and audits on site, recording findings and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
* Support project teams in maintaining digital quality records in Procore, ensuring all documentation is current, complete and compliant.
* Promote a first-time right culture by engaging with site teams and subcontractors to raise quality awareness and reduce rework.
* Ensure compliance with OCC's Integrated Management System (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001), contributing to the ongoing enhancement of quality processes and standards.
* Assist in the preparation of quality reports and scorecards for internal review and continuous improvement.
* Support the use of Lean Principles and Last Planner system to improve reliability and quality consistency across projects.
* Participate in internal and external audits, providing evidence and follow-up.
Key Requirements
* 3+ years' experience in a similar Quality, Site or Engineering role within construction.
* Completion of Internal Auditor course (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)
* Third-level qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline preferred.
* Good understanding of construction Quality Control processes and ITP management.
* Familiarity with Procore, Hammertech or similar digital platforms.
* Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams to maintain high-quality standards.
