At Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI), we enable our customers to interpret the world around us by intelligently bridging the physical and digital with unmatched technologies that sense, measure, and connect. ADI is a world leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of high-performance analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing (DSP) ICs used in virtually all types of electronic equipment.

ADI’s Smart Grid Solutions group develops IC products and solutions for the global energy revolution that is underway. Growth in the generation and use of clean energy sources has created huge demand for control, monitoring and measurement equipment in every aspect and we have a strong portfolio of existing products to enable our customers. As the revolution builds momentum, there is increasing need for greater complexity in the mixed signal design requirements for the next generation of products. As such, we are seeking an Analog Design Engineer to join our group and grow the analog capability at our Cork or Limerick, Ireland site.

The Role & Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to:

* Be part of an analog/mixed-signal design team based in the U.S., Ireland, and India.
o Perform analog transistor-level circuit design, modelling, and simulation.
o Integrate analog blocks into larger mixed-signal systems and sub-systems.
o Use recommended design and verification techniques, tools & flows to produce efficient designs which meet all specified functional, power and timing objectives.
o Support chip level integration and verification using advance mixed-signal techniques to ensure product function and performance.
* Support other job functions such as layout, lab evaluation and test to ensure successful execution, meeting all requirements.
* Perform hands-on evaluation of ICs in the lab as required.
* Develop and improve analog design methodologies consistent with the group’s wider business objectives to reduce time and cost to market.
* Build on your hands-on IC design experience with ongoing training and mentorship, while developing innovative products that solve our customers’ problems.
* Conduct technical presentations with ADI’s internal engineering forums and customers. Some limited travel should be expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Electronic Engineering degree with 2+ years’ experience as an analog/mixed signal IC designer. Master’s Degree preferred.

Required Skills/Experience:

* Candidates should have a good knowledge of analog and mixed signal design fundamentals, and of the tools and flows common in IC developments:
o Proficiency with the Cadence design environment including schematic entry, layout, and analog/mixed-signal simulation preferred. Proficiency with digital design and verification tool flows considered a plus.
o Familiarity with modelling languages such as MATLAB or Python are an advantage.
o Exposure to energy metering/management concepts and topologies of benefit but not necessary.
* Design experience with circuits such as amplifiers, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps, bias circuits, LDOs, Oscillators etc., is an advantage.
* Strong ownership, inter-personal skills, teamwork, and communication skills are important.
* A collaborative mindset and a desire to work as part of a team is essential.
