This role is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness.
The Housing Support Specialist will work closely with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to provide housing support services, helping individuals to access and maintain stable housing, address challenges that contribute to their homelessness, and build towards long-term stability and independence.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the complexities surrounding homelessness and be passionate about delivering person-centered, rights-based services that empower individuals to take control of their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive housing support services to individuals, including assessing needs, developing and implementing individualized support plans, and coordinating services to meet those needs.
2. Work collaboratively with local authorities, service providers, and community organizations to ensure seamless delivery of services and achieve desired outcomes.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, building trust and rapport to facilitate effective communication and engagement.
4. Monitor and evaluate progress towards set goals and objectives, making adjustments as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
5. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date on best practices and innovative approaches in the field.
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years' experience working with vulnerable populations, preferably in a homeless or housing support context.
* Degree in Social Work, Social Care, or related field.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
* Possession of a valid driver's license (if applicable).
