Our researchers have an outstanding publication record and a strong record of grant success Trinity Research About the Project: The post holder will be part of a multidisciplinary research team, based at St James' Hospital in Dublin, working on studies related to interventions (drug and on-drug interventions) for Alzheimer disease, Lewy body and other forms of dementia.
Our studies use different methods including imaging, biomarkers and neuropsychological methods to assess healthy volunteers, carers and people with lived experience.
The post-holder's primary job will be the coordinating core biomedical research and driving research outputs in the relevant work package of a multi-stream Health Research Board funded 'EMERALD-Lewy' programme.
The Programme's goal is to improve the diagnosis, management and lived experience of people with Lewy Body Dementia in Ireland.
To this effect, the post holder will coordinator the Programme's work package consisting of clinicians, scientists, industry partners, research assistants, PhD students and people with lived experience of Lewy body dementia and carers to coordinate data collection and drive the work package's research output.
The goal of Work Package 3 (WP3) of the EMERALD-Lewy programme is to develop and maintain a pilot prospective longitudinal cohort collecting core cognitive, neuropsychological, neuropsychiatric, sensory, motor, autonomic, Quality of Life measurements from people with Lewy body disease (Parkinson's disease with mild cognitive impairment, Parkinson's Disease Dementia, Dementia with Lewy bodies) in three waves.
WP3 is led by Prof. Joseph Kane and Prof. Roman Romero-Ortuno in Queens University Belfast and Trinity College Dublin together with Prof. Iracema Leroi (Programme Lead) and Dr. Anusha Mohan (Programme Manager).
The post holder will specifically support WP3 by coordinating data collection, data storage and management, organizing the WP3 weekly meetings and keeping minutes, work to secure data sharing agreements and Memorandum of Understanding with industry partners and E-DLB consortium, work together with the biomarker research lead (Daniela Tropea) to set up collection of biomarkers and spearhead WP-related research outputs.
They will also interface with the existing EMERALD-Lewy research team to support other research outputs.
