Our client,
one of Ireland's leading Civils & Utilities companies, is seeking an experienced Company Accountant to join their Finance Team in their office in West Dublin. This role involves hands-on management of day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and supporting leadership with financial insights. The position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Qualified Accountant to work closely with the Director of finance. The person must have experience working in the Civils and Utilities Industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
2. Prepare financial statements to trial balance stage and monthly management reports for directors.
3. Balance Sheet Reconciliations
4. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cashflow analysis, and variance reporting.
5. Liaise with external auditors and prepare documentation for year-end accounts and statutory audits.
6. Ensure compliance with tax obligations, including VAT and PAYE/PRSI returns.
7. Support the Financial Controller in overseeing accounting operations across affiliated companies.
8. Assist in organizing accounts support staff and coordinate job costing and project financial analysis.
9. Collaborate between commercial and financial teams to minimize project risk.
10. Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function.
Required Skills:
11. Qualified Accountant with at least 10 years previous experience
12. Experience working in the construction or related industry
13. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
14. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
15. Ability to take initiative and demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic environment.
16. Comfortable assisting in financial strategy, cashflow management, and process optimization.
