Job Title: Quality Assurance Microbiologist
We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Microbiologist to join our team in Cork, Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity for a microbiology expert to play a key role in environmental monitoring, water sampling programs, and risk assessments within a quality-focused manufacturing environment.
As the site Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all microbiology-related activities, you will oversee and support Environmental Monitoring (EM) and Water Sampling programs. You will provide training to operators in aseptic sampling techniques, interface with external labs for microbiological testing, and review and interpret results. Additionally, you will lead or support investigations into microbiology Out of Specification (OOS) or deviation events, participate in quality risk assessments, and support audit readiness activities.
To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, or a related scientific discipline. A master's degree is advantageous, as is significant experience in Environmental Monitoring, Water Sampling, and microbial risk assessment. You should also have strong communication and documentation skills, as well as previous experience working in a desk-based, non-lab QC role.
