Sous Chef Experienced chef required to work in catering company in Ballintubbert specialising in wedding and event Catering. Excellent role with only one service and 3 prep days per week most weeks. Must have experience working in wedding catering or high-end bistro or restaurant environments and managing a team during service. Food waste management is essential as well as experience and enthusiasm for working with good quality, seasonal and organic produce. Job outline To manage a prep kitchen during the week (2-3 days) under instruction from the head chef for events (mostly weddings on site one day a week) with head chef on the wedding days with a team of 3-5 chefs and front of house. During the season, most weeks will have 1 wedding with 2 on a very rare occasion and smaller corporate catering events at times. Main season from June - September with 11-13 weddings and 4-5 weeks with no events during this time. Flexible hours on prep days with start and finish times. Paid for every hour worked, not a salary contract. Roles / responsibilities Prep management, order management, HACCP implementation, staffing, quality control. Management of catering events. Management of food costs, ordering, Development of training and operation manuals. Full-time position available from June 2025. Pay is €25-26 per hour including holiday pay Full drivers license a bonus. Must have own transport to and from work. CV must provide references.
