Finance Administrator - Part time (3 Days per week)An established haulage business is seeking an experienced and hands-on Finance / Accounts Administrator to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, including costing, budgeting, forecasting, credit control, supplier payments, and general financial administration. The successful candidate will work closely with management to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong cost control, and effective cashflow management in a fast-paced operational environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain accurate costing information, including vehicle, fuel, maintenance, and operational costs.Assist with the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts, including variance analysis.Carry out general financial and accounting duties, including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and month-end processes.Manage credit control activities, including customer invoicing, monitoring debtor balances, chasing overdue accounts, and resolving invoice queries.Process and reconcile supplier invoices, ensuring accurate and timely payment of suppliers .Maintain and reconcile ledgers, bank accounts, and credit card statements.Prepare management reports and provide ad-hoc financial analysis as required.Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and other stakeholders when necessary.Maintain strong financial controls, accurate records, and compliance with internal procedures.RequirementsProven experience in a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping role, ideally within an SME environment.Strong understanding of costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting .Solid experience in credit control and supplier payment processing .Good working knowledge of accounting systems and strong Excel skills .High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.Ability to work independently while supporting management.DesirableExperience within the haulage, transport, or logistics sector .Payroll, VAT, or management accounts experience.Familiarity with SME accounting systems.
