Parker Stewart are partnering with a multinational technology organisation to hire Optical Network Engineers on an initial 11-month day-rate contract, with the scope for the position to become permanent after. This role will be based in Dublin on-site, however there is some degree of flexibility with the client.What are we looking for?We're looking for a skilled engineers with expertise in optical networking to help architect and expand high-capacity infrastructure across a distributed network of data centres. This position involves end-to-end involvement in the development and implementation of advanced optical solutions that underpin large-scale cloud platforms, support diverse customer needs, and enable internal systems to operate efficiently on a global scale.What will you be doing?The global infrastructure division is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of data center environments — from strategic planning and design to deployment and ongoing operations. This team ensures the seamless performance of the systems behind large-scale cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and facility infrastructure like power and cooling. They tackle complex, variable-rich challenges across global supply chains and are searching for driven individuals eager to help maintain and evolve the backbone of modern digital services.Requirements & Responsibilites:4+ years experience planning and deploying high capacity DWDM and Optical network systemsCollaborate with vendors/manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software featuresCreate implementations plans for incorporating them into the networkExperience in working in a highly available network and highly operationally awareor similar tool for network automation scriptingA Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience such as the rollout of large DWDM networks and Optical network technologies (preferred)This is a daily-rate, contract position with the possibility of the role becoming permanent after the initial 11-month contract.
