Engineering TechnicianYou will be responsible for the maintenance service to production and the site. You will be part of a multi-disciplined team ensuring all maintenance work is carried out in an effective and efficient manner.Reports to:Engineering ManagerHours of Work:Days/Evenings 06:00-14:30/14:30 - 23:3010% shift allowance for 14:30-23:30 shift. Weekly rotation of days then evenings.Key Responsibilities:Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:Providing both reactive and planned maintenance support to the full siteCarry out installations and commissioning of plant/ equipment & trouble shooting of sameContribute to the efficiency of the operation by maximizing uptime of machinery & minimise downtime in production and utility areasTroubleshooting using PLC ProgramsTechnical support for all the plant facilitiesCarry out engineering work orders in a timely and safe manner while maintaining adherence to cGMPAdhere to all site policies on Quality, Environmental and Health & safety.Assist the Health & Safety team in carrying out risk assessments of new & existing machinesEnsure Health & Safety training is rolled out to the Maintenance teamClosely monitor line, machine performance and improve where possibleOverseeing of contractors on siteProvide general maintenance support as designated by supervisors/ managerProvide the Engineering Department with the highest levels of support. Analysing plant downtime levels and implementing effective strategies to increase uptimeEnsure that Engineering Manager and other area Mangers are kept informed of significant developments within their areasQualifications/ Experience/ Skills:A relevant third level qualification in Engineering or time-served Electrician or fitter (Electrical/Mechanical Qualification/ Mechanical Experience)Minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance role, planned and reactive maintenance skillsWorking knowledge & experience of relevant Health, Safety & Environmental legislationUnderstand Food Safety policies and legislation (BRC & ISO)Excellent written and verbal communicationAbility to manage time effectively and meet deadlinesStrong problem-solving skills, as well as an analytical, decisive approachExperience of a wide range of motor control systems & process temperature controls & pneumaticsExperience using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)Experience of safety systems utilising Isolation / lock-off procedures, risk assessment and permit to workFlexible and adaptableStrong team player with ability to work on own initiativePLC/ PC Control Systems experienceThere will also be a requirement to be on-call in this roleInterested?
