Revenue Management Specialist
Job Overview:
* This role involves working as part of a team in a busy financial management department.
* The department is responsible for financial assessment and billing, debt collection, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collate and submit claims to health insurers.
* Provide requested notes and discharge letters to consultants and billing firms in a timely manner.
* Assist with patient billing and invoicing, ensuring all correct charges are levied and invoices are mailed to relevant parties.
* Liaise with various departments for the collection of data.
* Contact and follow up with consultants regarding claim forms.
* Update information sent to debt collectors.
* Assist with queries from billing firms and insurers.
* Copy and send chart notes, discharge letters, HIPE letters, and documentation as required.
* Assist in the collation of insurance claims.
* Answer queries from the general public and patients, and take payment information by phone and email.
* Update patient billing system and tracking systems.
* Scan patient forms and record billing information on a related system.
* Ensure invoices are correct and report discrepancies.
* Adjust write-offs and cancellations according to procedures.
* Assist with training concerning aspects of this role.
* Provide assistance to staff, including checking medical cards when needed.
* Maintain an appropriate filing system for patient accounts.
* Retrieving and tracking medical records required by the office and returning them to the medical records department.
* Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
* Professional qualifications, experience, etc.
* Candidates must have satisfactory experience as a Clerical Officer in a healthcare agency or a body providing services under Section 38 of the Health Act 2004.
* Or
* Candidates must have obtained a pass (Grade D) in at least five subjects from the approved list, including Mathematics and English or Irish.
* Candidates should have obtained at least Grade C3 higher level papers in three subjects in that examination.
* Or
* Candidates must have completed a relevant examination at a comparable standard in another jurisdiction.
* Or
* Candidates must hold a comparable and relevant third-level qualification of at least level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework maintained by Qualifications and Quality Ireland.
* Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the office.
* Age: Age restriction shall only apply to a candidate who is not classified as a new entrant. A candidate who is not classified as a new entrant must be under 65 years of age on the first day of the month in which the latest date for receiving application forms occurs.
* Health: Candidates and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
* Character: Candidates and any person holding the office must be of good character.
* Desirable: Good knowledge of financial software, Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
