About The Role:We are seeking an experienced and proactive Compliance & AML Manager to join our growing team within Paysend EU DAC a licensed Irish e-Money Institution. This role is critical in ensuring our firm's compliance with applicable Irish and EU regulatory obligations and supporting the continued development and oversight of our robust AML framework.The successful candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable both designing and executing compliance and AML/CFT controls in a fast-paced fintech environment. You will work closely with senior management, operational teams, and regulators to strengthen and enhance our compliance and AML frameworks.What You'll Do (Responsibilities):Compliance Management:Support the PCF-12 in maintaining, developing, and improving the firm's overall compliance framework in line with Irish and EU regulatory requirements.Draft, review, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and manuals, ensuring they remain aligned with evolving regulations and business practices.Provide compliance review and approval across business units, particularly around new product launches, customer onboarding, card scheme compliance, and cross-border payment activities.Monitor regulatory developments from the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI), EBA, ECB, and other relevant authorities, assessing their impact and implementing necessary changes.Prepare and present compliance reports to the Board, Financial Crime Committee, Senior ManagementManage and communicate all critical compliance matters and incidents.Preparation and submission of internal and external compliance reports, including regulatory returns, Board updates, and CBI information requests.Support governance processes such as compliance committee meetings, Board presentations, and internal audits.Ensure that all internal audit points are closed in a timely manner.Oversee the handling of regulatory complaints ensuring regulatory requirements are adhered toEnsure all staff adhere to F&P requirements and co-ordinate the approval process with the Central Bank of IrelandEnsure storage of records related to compliance, AML / CFT, customer due diligence and suspicious transaction reportsAML/CFT Responsibilities:Support the PCF-52 in the design, implementation, and operation of the firm's AML/CFT framework.Conduct risk assessments across customer segments, products, delivery channels, and geographies, with a particular focus on downstream customer risk and correspondent relationships.Oversee and enhance customer due diligence (CDD), EDD, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity reporting processes.Liaise with FIU Ireland, CBI, and other authorities on AML/CFT matters as required.Provide training and guidance to staff on AML/CFT obligations and emerging typologies in payments and e-money.Perform ongoing assurance testing of AML/CFT controls and drive remediation where necessary.Supervise outsourced service providers who perform compliance activities ensuring they meet expectations.Deliver training and maintain oversight of training logs.Enhance reporting with detailed information from first line teamsStakeholder Engagement:Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, Risk, Product, Technology, etc.) to ensure compliance and AML considerations are embedded in all business processes.Liaise with external partners such as payment processors, card schemes, and correspondent institutions to ensure appropriate oversight and risk management.Represent the compliance and AML functions in regulatory interactions, audits, and examinations as requiredWhat You'll Need To Be Successful In This Role:Essential:5–7 years' experience in compliance and/or AML roles within an Irish or EU-licensed payments, e-money, or fintech firm.Strong working knowledge of the E-Money Directive (EMD2), Payment Services Directive (PSD2/PSD3), and Irish AML legislation.Proven experience managing AML/CFT frameworks in complex environments involving cross-border payments, card issuing, and correspondent relationships.Demonstrable regulatory engagement experience, ideally with the Central Bank of Ireland.Excellent understanding of risk-based approaches, CDD/EDD processes, and transaction monitoring systems.Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills — able to translate regulatory obligations into practical business procedures.Hands-on, proactive mindset — comfortable executing as well as advising.Strong report writing, policy drafting, and stakeholder management capabilities.Strong data skillsDesirable:Relevant professional qualification such as ACAMS, ICA Diploma in AML/Compliance, or equivalent.Experience supporting PCF functions in a regulated Irish entity.Exposure to compliance technologies or data analytics tools used in AML/CFT monitoring.Experience with regulatory reporting
