Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Theatre Healthcare Assistant to join our team. As a Theatre Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the nursing team and consultants within the theatre environment.
Your key responsibilities will include preparing theatres for surgery, assisting in the transfer of patients to and from theatre, and ensuring that the theatre environment is always clean and sterile.
You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within the theatre area, including ensuring that all equipment is in good working order and that the correct cleaning solutions and cleaning equipment are available.
In addition, you will assist the anaesthetic nurse in theatre with any specific requirements for the theatre lists, transport patients into the anaesthetic rooms and from day surgery and in-patient wards, and ensure that the Nurse Manager is kept aware of any special considerations required for patients.
You will also be responsible for positioning patients relevant to the procedure being carried out, assisting surgeons and scrub nurses in preparing patients for surgery, and transporting patients post-procedure to their own bed.
Other key duties will include communicating patient queries to the relevant clinical manager, ensuring that all theatres are cleaned and prepared for the next case, and reporting any unresolved queries or complaints to the Clinical Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* FETAC Level 5 qualification in a relevant field
* At least one year experience in a similar role
* Strong organisation and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication skills
