About the Role
Accredited Counsellors/Therapists are required for sessional work with the HSE Counselling Primary Care (CIPC) service in counties Kilkenny and Carlow.
Service Overview
CIPC is a short-term counselling provision in primary care settings, targeting medical card holders aged 18 years and over. It's offered by professionally qualified counsellors, psychotherapists, and psychologists under the governance of the HSE Directors of Counselling.
Key Qualifications and Experience
An applicant must possess:
1. A recognised Level 7 qualification in a relevant human science discipline or equivalent in a health and social care profession or health-related profession.
2. Plus either:
* Hold a degree or post-graduate qualification in counselling, or psychotherapy recognised by one of the following: IACP, a relevant body within the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP), or the Irish Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (IABCP).
* Have full accredited membership with one of the following: IACP, IABCP, or a relevant body within ICP.
* Or
* Hold a post-graduate qualification in counselling psychology or clinical psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
* Have commenced the registration process with the PSI or be fully registered with the clinical or counselling psychology division of PSI.
Additionally, applicants should have a minimum of two years' relevant post-qualification experience, although this requirement may not apply to some full-time post-graduate qualifications. A selection process will also be employed.
