Department highlights include:Driving complex design delivery: We design AIS/GIS substations from 20kV to 220kV and contestable build and non-contestable stations in the range of 40 to 550MVA CCGT. Connections include conventional and renewable Power Generation, Peaking, Battery Storage, DS3 and Solar PV plants and large demand loads such as data centres and process plants.Delivery of high-complexity design frameworks: NeoDyne is a gas network design framework supplier, playing a significant role in providing electrical and instrumentation engineering services for the on-shore Natural Gas Industry and Regulated gas utility sector in Ireland and the UK. Our expertise include Compressor Station, AGI Electrical & Instrumentation design, Fiscal and non-Fiscal metering, and Cathodic Protection.With a team of 220+ skilled engineers, our expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, from design and implementation to commissioning and operations. From our offices in Ireland, the UK, Romania, and the US, we operate on a global scale, combining technical expertise with local delivery. We support customers across Europe, North America, and Asia, delivering tailored engineering services that drive long-term success.Position SummaryNeoDyne are recruiting a highly skilledHV Design Engineerto join our expanding Transmission & Distribution team. This role will involve leading a team of 2-3 design engineers and producing substation and renewable electrical design packages.The role is offered as a full-time staff position, based at ourCork Office, with an excellent Salary and Benefits package. If successful, you will enjoy NeoDyne's "People First" company culture, built on mutual respect, trust, and honesty, where each individual actively contributes as a valued team member.Key ResponsibilitiesReviewing Client or Employer Requirements for a project and ensuring design compliance.Producing specifications for various electrical equipment and assemblies (transformers, circuit breakers, instrument transformers etc.).Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager on projects.Carrying out Pre-Commissioning of Substations and Commissioning of Customer HV/MV substations.Providing guidance and training to junior and graduate engineers.HV Design Responsibilities to include:Control & Protection wiring schematics;Protection schemes for IPP transformers and substations;Earthing designs to IEEE 80 and EN 50552;Static design studies including transformer sizing, load flow, reactive power, short circuit utilising ETAP software;Substation layouts to IEC 61936 for both AIS and GIS switchgear;Low voltage designs to IS10101;Lighting and general services designs;Fire and security designs;Interfacing with utility and third party consultants to answer and close out design review comments;Responding to site queries from install contractors and commissioners;Complying with NeoDynes ISO9001 and internal design review procedures;Design project management from project initiation to substation energisation.RequiredExperience & SkillsLevel 8 Degree in Electrical, Energy Engineering, or equivalent4-8 years experience in a high voltage electrical design environment.Ability to drive and develop control & protection designs using EPLAN.Experience of substation clearances and layouts.DesiredExperience of high voltage earthing design requirements an advantage.Experience of developing electrical design studies an advantage.Experience in use of the above in ESB/Eirgrid substation environment an advantage.CharacteristicsWe look for candidates whoWork well as part of a team.Have excellent problem solving and diagnostic skills.Can complete tasks independently, capable of self-learning.Can prioritise and coordinate work.Have excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.Can multitask and work well under pressure.Are a strategic business thinker.What's on offer?Competitive starting salary with year-on-year bonuses and salary increases.Paid OvertimePRSA pension with employer contributionHealth InsuranceIncome ProtectionLife AssuranceFlexible WorkingDon't miss this opportunity to join a company at the forefront of industrial automation projects in Ireland, the UK, mainland Europe and the US.
