Job Specification Title: Accounts Assistant
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team at The Panel Group. This is a full-time permanent role that involves working closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The Job:
1. Staff payroll processing monthly for over 150 staff members.
2. Operation of client account transfers in and out, adhering to a strict process.
3. Assisting team members in processing transactions on client matters.
4. Implementing various month-end processes.
5. Maintaining accurate financial records.
6. Bank reconciliation and cash flow management.
7. VAT and tax compliance.
8. Credit control and debt management.
9. Financial reporting and analysis.
The Person:
* A minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar accounts assistant role within a professional services firm, preferably in a legal firm.
* A strong understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) and experience handling client money, disbursements, and compliance obligations.
* Proficiency in using accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with fee earners, partners, and external parties.
* The ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and suggest improvements to financial processes.
