Job Title: Technical Portfolio Underwriter Location: Dublin City Working Model: Hybrid Abrivia are currently recruiting for a Technical Portfolio Underwriter to join our client's Commercial team in Dublin.
This role will have a strong focus on portfolio and product analysis, reporting, and exposure management, supporting the broader underwriting function in driving data-led decisions and portfolio performance.
Your Role Conduct in-depth portfolio analysis to identify performance trends, opportunities, and areas of concern.
Prepare high-quality commercial reports, summarising findings and providing actionable recommendations to underwriting management.
Support product reviews and updates, ensuring underwriting standards and documentation reflect current risk appetite and market conditions.
Work closely with underwriting and reinsurance teams to ensure alignment between exposure management, pricing, and coverage.
Develop and maintain underwriting and product MI dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and clarity in reporting.
Provide analytical input to portfolio reviews, pricing model development, and product optimisation initiatives.
Contribute to training materials and presentations for internal stakeholders on portfolio and product performance.
Participate in cross-departmental projects as a technical representative for portfolio-related matters.
Your Skills Minimum of 5 years' experience in a technical or analytical underwriting environment.
CIP qualification essential; MDI or ACII desirable.
Strong analytical, numerical, and reporting skills with proven experience producing commercial insights.
Sound understanding of Property and Casualty insurance products and underwriting principles.
Experience in exposure management, portfolio analysis, or product performance reporting.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and comfort working with underwriting and MI systems.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data in a clear, commercial manner.
