Our client, is currently seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing supplier relationships, optimising procurement processes, and ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality materials. The Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing, selecting, and purchasing food products, ingredients, and related supplies, while managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and optimizing costs. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of quality goods that meet the company's needs and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Sourcing and Supplier Management: Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, conducting market research, and negotiating contracts for food products, ingredients, and packaging. Procurement Strategy: Developing and implementing strategies for cost-effective and efficient procurement processes, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and risk management. Cost Optimization: Analysing pricing trends, identifying opportunities for cost savings, and implementing initiatives to reduce procurement costs. Quality Assurance: Ensuring that all procured goods meet the company's quality standards and comply with relevant regulations. Inventory Management: Working with internal teams to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and minimize waste. Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely communication, and resolving any issues or disputes. Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and company policies. Reporting and Analysis: Tracking key procurement metrics, analysing data, and providing regular reports on performance and cost savings. Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as operations, production, and finance, to ensure alignment on procurement strategies and goals. Skills and Qualifications: Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar procurement role. Strong knowledge of the food industry and market trends. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Proven ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with procurement software and systems. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Knowledge of relevant food safety regulations and standards. Degree in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
