Job Title: Food and Beverage Assistant
Job Summary:
The Food and Beverage Assistant provides exceptional customer service, assists in food and drink preparation, and ensures a clean, welcoming dining environment.
They work under the supervision of a manager or supervisor to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and serve customers, take orders, and answer menu queries.
Prepare and serve food and beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, following recipes and safety standards.
Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and equipment, adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
Process payments, operate cash registers, and handle transactions accurately.
Assist with setting up and clearing tables, ensuring timely service.
Support stock management, including restocking supplies and monitoring inventory.
Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth operations.
Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
Team player with a customer-focused attitude.
Previous experience in hospitality or food service is a plus but not always required.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (e.g., trays, stock), and move quickly during busy shifts.
Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
On-the-job training provided; food safety certification may be required.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced, dynamic settings such as restaurants, hotels, or event venues.
May involve working under pressure during peak hours.
