The Role
We are seeking a Sourcing Specialist to develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical materials used in oil-filled distribution transformers. This role is central to securing reliable, cost-effective, and compliant supply of materials such as electrical steel, copper, aluminium, insulation systems, bushings, hardware, and transformer oils. You will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations and Procurement to support both current production and future product development.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and manage sourcing strategies for transformer materials and components
* Identify, qualify and manage suppliers, monitoring cost, quality and delivery performance
* Lead commercial negotiations, contracts and cost-reduction initiatives
* Support new product introductions and material changes with Engineering and Quality
* Mitigate supply risk through multi-sourcing, capacity planning and market analysis
* Track commodity trends and provide data-driven insights on cost and availability
* Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality and sustainability requirements
Requirements
* Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business or similar
* 3–5+ years' sourcing or procurement experience in heavy manufacturing or the electrical industry
* Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management and cost analysis
* ERP experience essential, SAP strongly preferred
* Excellent negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills
* Comfortable working with technical specifications and terminology
* Willingness to travel internationally
