Role OverviewLocation: Oversee various sites across the Midlands & SoutheastThe Senior Site Engineer will play a key leadership role in the delivery of large-scale residential housing projects. Responsible for setting out, quality control, technical oversight, and coordination of subcontractors, the Senior Site Engineer will ensure that construction works are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Technical DutiesCarry out accurate setting out and surveying for all groundworks, structures, utilities, and finishing works.Interpret and implement project drawings, specifications, and design information.Conduct regular as-built surveys and prepare associated reports.Manage RFI submissions, technical queries, and design coordination with consultants.Carry out quality checks and ensure compliance with building regulations, design standards, and company procedures.Support value engineering initiatives and propose technical improvements where appropriate.Site ManagementOversee daily engineering activities and provide guidance to Site Engineers and junior staff.Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure works are delivered on time and in line with project requirements.Assist the Construction Manager in planning sequencing of works and resolving technical issues on site.Monitor progress against schedule and contribute to weekly progress reporting.Ensure all works adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards.Health, Safety & ComplianceImplement and enforce site-specific safety plans and method statements.Identify potential risks and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.Support the HSE team in carrying out toolbox talks, site audits, and incident investigations.Documentation & ReportingMaintain comprehensive site records, including permits, inspections, QC documentation, and daily reports.Prepare and present progress updates, ensuring effective communication with the wider project team.Ensure quality assurance documentation is completed for handover and compliance purposes.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related discipline.5–8+ years' site engineering experience, ideally within large-scale residential or mixed-use housing developments.Strong proficiency in surveying equipment (GPS, Total Station), AutoCAD, and digital construction tools.Demonstrated experience working with main contractors on multi-unit housing or similar high-volume projects.In-depth knowledge of Irish building regulations.Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
