Offer description

TheHV SubstationsDeliverydepartments in Networks Engineering,ESB Engineering& Major Projectsareresponsible forthe design of high voltage transmission and distributionsubstationsassetsfor ESB Networks.
This includesboth conceptual and detailed engineering design,designsafety management,projectprogrammingand commercial management.Collaboration with a range stakeholders is a key function of this role including Networks Project Delivery and other external delivery services and contingent labour providers.
The Senior Team Leader(STL)is responsible forthe management of:
Substation delivery team
The processes and systemsrequiredto meet design teams working with Networks Project Delivery and ESB Networks Customer Delivery
The STLis responsible forthe forecasting, resourcing, work integration, qualityassuranceand auditing of the team deliverables.
The STL will co-ordinate the implementation of current and new standards with all the relevant stakeholders in ESBNetworks and Networks Project Delivery.
The STLis responsible fortheday-to-daymanagement ofthe substation design teamto carry outrole ofLead Engineeron the portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Team Leader is required to:
Manage HV Project design support associated with internal and external project delivery models (EPC& D&B)
Provide leadership and technical guidanceto other team members in all aspects of the project conception, technical scoping, technical costing, commercial aspects (including customer and renewable connections), design, project programming (including design, construction, test and inspection, )design review, training, development, mentoring and interfacing with clients.

Provide theday to daymanagement ofspecialist work streamsand the approval of allthekey work outputs.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
A minimum ofSevenyears' experience in substation design.
Proven ability to work in a team toa high levelof performance.
A strong understanding of all elements of substationtendering and tender evaluations,scoping, planning, design, costing,constructionand commissioning.
A strong work ethic with aclear focus on delivery to ESB's safety, time,qualityand costobjectives.
Strong commercial andproject management capability.
The demonstrated ability to meet deadlinesand manage multiple priorities.
A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to delivery excellent customer service.
Excellent communication and report writing skills.
A proventrack recordof success contributing to the training and development of technical professionals.

Qualifications
Either 3rd LevelElectrical Engineering qualification or equivalent work experience is essential
Location
This role is based inDublin or Cork Officesbut travel to project locations asrequired, is a key requirement of the role
The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week.
All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
General
It is notanticipatedthat a staff member still on probation (either new entrant probation or a probation froma previouspromotion) will be eligible to apply for a promotional vacancy.
Typically, an individual must have completed their probation and should have at least two years' experience in their current role before being eligible to apply for a promotion.
An application from a staff member who does not meet the above criteria must have the approval of both the senior line manager and the HRM within the BU before progressing to application
Note:For staff currently on non-monthly pay frequency, any promotion to Bands 5 and above will result in a change in pay frequency to monthly.
