Applications are invited for a temporary post of a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 2 within UCD School of Earth Science. We invite applications for a position for a post-doctoral fellow (level 2) for a newly funded Research Ireland Research Professorship awarded to Prof. Sarah Gleeson in the School of Earth Sciences (UCD) and the Research Ireland Centre for Applied Geosciences (iCRAG). The research programme is called "Metals for a Green Ireland: Developing innovative mineral systems and exploration tools" and is focussed on the provision of the critical and strategic raw materials required for the green transition. The research group will comprise 13 members from senior research fellows to PhD students, involves field sites on four continents and collaboration with industry and other stakeholders. The research is focused on base metal deposits in sedimentary basins. This post-doctoral fellow will have access to the instrumentation in the National Centre of Isotope Geochemistry at UCD and will be primarily responsible for technique development and providing geochronological data and expertise to raw materials researchers at UCD, although collaborations with the wider iCRAG and School of Earth Sciences community are also possible. This is an advanced academic research role, building on your prior experience as a post-doctoral fellow, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training under the supervision and direction of Professor Gleeson and a research fellow in her group. Salary range: €54,307 - €59,063 Per Annum Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
